1 centimeter?

SOrry I have not posted through my pregnancy - I actually just left my job last week at 8.5 montths.
I was at the dr on Monday he said I was 1 cm and probably not going to make it to my next appt on Monday the 7th, he thought he would see me in the delivery room before thatt
My question is....... how fast does one dialate? I know he said that when the contractions are 3-4 mins apart and lasting a minute that I should be 4-5 cm. I am afraid to go out to do a few last errands and have such pressure all day and horrible braxton hicks at night
Any insight would be appreciated!
PS my actual due date is the 10th

You can stay one cent. for weeks. I would just stay close to home and if you do go out, make sure you have your cell phone fully charged. Try to have someone with you, just incase. If you are uncomfortable, i would wait until your DH is able to do things with you.

I've been 3 cm since last week!!!! I haven't delivered this baby yet!!!!!

I was 1cm with my son at my Fri visit and had him on Sun night (in 2002 not last week LOL) I remember being very bummed b/c I thought it was never going to move along but it happened really fast.

my sister had a baby on thursday she had some contractons that were 3 min apart went to L&D was 1cm her contractions stayed steady and she had the baby 11pm. You can stay 1 cm for weeks...once your contractions start coming on strong and steady go to l&D and get checked.

I'm not dialated yet, but my doc said dialation can happen very quickly. So you never know.
