Test/Quiz policy

What is your test/quiz policy? Do you have your students get a parent's signature for every test/quiz no matter what the grade is? OR do you only have them get failing tests/quizzes signed? I usually have them get them all signed, but my co-worker only gets failing grades signed. I teach 5th & 6th grade by the way. I was just wondering. Thanks!! Chat Icon

Re: Test/Quiz policy

I teach 1st grade. All math tests and spelling tests require a signature, no matter the grade. Granted, I don't keep track, but at this age, they're pretty good about it.

Re: Test/Quiz policy

I teach 4th and they need to have all tests/quizzes signed regardless of the grade.

Re: Test/Quiz policy

i teach 10th grade and every kid gets a test slip signed. on it i write te grade, hw missed from not doing or abs, extra help attendance
like 1 out of 4 ex helps before the test. they have 2 days to return it. if they return on time they get a point for another test...if they do not return on time I give them a missing HW and a call home

It cuts down on parent phone calls for me if they are signing the slips. Most of my kids do it there are maybe 2 out of the 3 classes i have of them who dont.

I keep them in envelopes and when there is parent teacher conference and the parent doesnt understand why they are failing I take out the slips and say u do sign these....i caught a few forging....when u cathc them they tell their friends and everyone is scared to do it.Chat Icon

It also says if there are questions or concerns to contact me on every slip with the number so when they say well u never call me to let me know my child is failing.....I just take out the slips and say u have been signing and if they say yes I say why didnt u call me? This has happened a few times...My chair loves these slips b/c it is a great CYA. I always cover myself

Re: Test/Quiz policy

We were told never to send the tests home because they might not come back so I don't get any signatures

Re: Test/Quiz policy

all grades are recorded, then tests are sent home to be signed. if they don't come back the next day, the parents get a phone call. they are told it's their responsibility.

i teach 2nd
