Re: randella

hey... Mystic was really nice. DH and I were looking for a nice weekend away-- and that's what we got.

Here is what we did:
- We walked around the town and went into the shops-- town is really cute-- shops are not that great.. I did get some stuff in the Black Dog shop which just opened.

- Had breakfast at Kitchen Little one day-- it was ok. Probably would have been better if I got like pancakes or something, but I decided to get an egg white omlette to be healthy.

- We took a tour and did a tasting at the Jonathan Edwards winery-- this was fun-- it's very pretty there and it was a gorgeous day. We just kinda stumbled upon it.

- Walked around Old Mistick Village (eh...)

- Drove to Stonington and walked the main strip there-- some nice antique shops-- really pretty area.

- Found a little beach attached to the YMCA-- only beach we could find. It's small and we had the whole thing to ourselves.

- Ate lunch at Mystic Pizza-- just got a slice to share, for fun... the pizza is NOTHING special. As someone else posted-- it's like Pizza Hut, but it's a thing to do there I guess.

- Had dinner at Bravo Bravo our first night--- we really liked this.

- Had dinner at Daniel Packer Inn our second night Not for us at all-- the service was terrible, and the food was not good... We are a little snobby when it comes to food, but I think most people would be bothered by what bothered us-- this place was so not worth the money. We did have a nice bottle of Rioja there.

On the way home, we went to the Lyman Estate to pick apples and pears, etc. We really enjoyed this-- again, the day was totally gorgeous, which added to it. It's about an hour away from Mystic on the way home.
