So, I went to see the RS today....
and I loved her. I went to Dr. Chu at NS-Manhassett The Human Reproductive Office. She did an Ultrasound to make sure evrything was ok and started me on Clomid. I have to start taking it tonight---one pill for 5 days and then go back in on Monday to have another ultrasound done. Dh has to do an SA and then we will take it from there. I highly recommend Dr. Chu. She is new and very nice. She made me and Dh feel so comfortable.

Re: So, I went to see the RS today....
Kara, clomid is used when a person miscarries because they may not be producing enough progesterone. The use of clomid will hopefully have them produce more follies...and therefore, more progesterone...(more leftover follies, corpus luteum in the ovaries). However, when taking clomid for that reason especially, you should be monitored. You can have more control of the follicule size as well, and possibly do a trigger shot so that the follie doesn't grow too big. Sometimes clomid speeds up the follicule growth, and you can O earlier and at a more appropriate size.
However, another med, that does the same thing with so many less side effects is femara. However, you have to usually request that med...clomid is usually what dr's prescribe...because it's been around longer.
