Does Anyone
else have to brush their dogs teeth?
We went to the Vet last night and she told me that I had to start brushing Rudy's teeth because he has a lot of build up of a dog his age...
What do you use (anything like toothpaste)?
Of course Rudy hates this.. and I will also be hating it soon.

Re: Does Anyone
If you go to the petstore, they have kits for brushing their teeth. You can also give him Greenies which help keep their teeth clean.

Re: Does Anyone
I give Larry David greenies because he tries to eat anything I put in his mouth. As for toothpaste, do NOT use human toothpaste. Dogs can't digest the flouride. They sell canine toothpaste at any pet supply store. My vet said to put a little on your finger and let the dog taste it so he knows what's going in his mouth. Then use one of the finger brushes (also can be bought at a pet supply store) to brush.
Do you feed him wet food? If so, that could be a big cause of the buildup. If you don't already, I would incorporate some dry food into his diet - the dry food helps fight buildup.
