I am actually getting trained to use one during the conference day in Nov. I heard that its pretty neat.

My kids are in a trance when I use mine. I have just started to get a little comfortable with it....it is a lot of playing around to get comfortable. Right now I use it for math games and some reading things. We are getting trained soon so I am looking forward to that.

I have one and LOVE it! I do a lot of powerpoint notes in it. I will do a whole powerpoint on a lesson- introduce vocab., ask questions, and show a united streaming video. Quia activities are great on there. I also use "linguascope.com" and they have cool tictactoe games.

Depending on the size, a smart board is about $1000
I use mine a lot. I put all of my math lessons on smart board in interactive notebook form. I have the group that struggles and the text book just has too many confusing things going on.

And that would be why I work until 6 every day 
Good thing is, once they're made, they're made. And it really keeps the kids engaged.

We have a small school with one smartboard on each lfoor. We sign them out in advance for one month at a time. I had one in my room last spring and really enjoyed having it. The only issue I have with it is the software incompatibility with MS Word. I d/l'd the software on my computer at home (which is free), saved everything to a memory stick and did just fine.

We have a few in the building and were trained on how to use them, but IMO, it's a LOT of work!

I have a portable smart board but every other classroom has full size interwrite boards. (Just a different brand of electronic white board.) It is frustrating because all the training is for interwrite so I am kind of on my own with the sb. I love it though and use it for pretty much everything.
