chili with beer and chocolate?
Looking for an easy recipe that incorporates both...found a bunch on the net, but looking for tried and true.
I usually just use ground beef, canned diced tomatoes, a small can of tomato sauce, a small can of green chilis, and the pre packaged chili seasoning mixes.
I'd like to do something more homemade and unique.
Any suggestions? Can I just add beer and chocolate to what I already do? How about cinnamon...I've heard that a pinch is amazing in chili...

Sounds like what you are describing is a little more like Cincinnati Chili.
I always ask my friends from cincinnati to get me seasoning packets from their grocery stores so that I can make it at home. Not sure if that is offered anywhere else.
It has the chocolate and cinnamon.. yum.
(Sorry, guess I really didnt answer your question!)

I would do a cocoa powder, and a darker beer, like a stout. Cinnamon would work as well in the flavor.
