Help! Need a dress altered ASAP

I have to wear a bridesmaids dress two weeks from Sunday and need it altered... I keep forgetting about it - I think I have a mental block against it because it's dreadful. Anyway ... HELP! Do alterations take more than 2 weeks? I just need the straps shortened. I have to have this done, like, tomorrow - does anyone have a seamstress they can recommend who has a quick turnaround? I work in western Nassau and live in Suffolk so I'll go anywhere.

I'd think if you just need straps done you could go to any dry cleaner that does tailoring.
