Hairdresser in the Hicksville area

Does anyone know a good hairdresser in this area? I'm looking to change my hair and want to find someone good, but not crazy expensive....preferably someone you have experience with.

I'm willing to drive out of the area a little.

Don't know if this will help, but MIL gets her hair done on Hicksville Rd in Bethpage. I can't remember the name or number, but it's next to Pasta Time, in that shopping complex.

I don't know if the people who work there are up on the new styles, or they only deal with the older women who go every week.

There's also Bocara, 733 Wantagh Ave. 516-735-3838. Got a mani there once and it was pretty "up to date". Don't know the prices for a cut though.

I have been going to Sam Jons on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown (Across from BJ's shopping center) for years.

Maria is very well & also Debbie (only there on Tuesdays).
