Pull outs galore!

Yesterday at two seperate times during the day I was left with 7 students!Chat Icon

What do you do when 3/4 of the class is gone? Stay on track with what you had planned...knowing the others will miss it OR something else???

Re: Pull outs galore!

I'm an inclusion teacher, and honestly, we keep going during pull-outs...We cannot have students pulled during literacy or math blocks, so there are less than 2 hours left when students can be pulled during the day! We are very conscious of meeting the needs of all of our students, including the higher achieving students (who are usually left with us during the rest of the day). It gives us an opportunity to do interesting activities in small groups that is gauged to their levels and interests.

Really? Those are the only times when students (for the most part) cannot be pulled out except for ESL (if a beginner and receiving 2x per day OR reading intervention if labeled intensive)...we are also under a NYS reading grant so there are lots of rules, especially with reading!

YUP they are pulled out all day long! Speech whenever...never know when...AIS Reading and Math and ESL (which is the biggest waste of time) I have come very close to telling her don;t bother...but that is probably not a good idea

I do the same. Three days a week I'm left with 5 kids Chat Icon and the other 2 days I'm left with about 10 kids.
