Anyone dressing up for Halloween?
I want to dress up this year! My students keep asking me what I am being, but I have no idea. (I teach sixth grade.) Any ideas of what I could be?

We're only allowing the kids to dress up as a character from their favorite book. I'm dressing up as Miss Viola Swamp!

We are not dressing up nor have we learned anything or done any halloween crafts in our class. one of the students in our class does not celebrate halloween and his parents asked up not to engage in any halloween like activities

we aren't allowed - the kids either...."for safety reasons"  ...but we wear orange and black!

Why must the whole class not do anything because of one student??
Was this your decision or your principal told you to do this?
In my building we have the librarian taking any students who cannot participate to the library for a movie with popcorn.

I agreee!! that is very unfair!!! so the whole class should suffer and not get to celebrate a holiday because of one student? they should just have another teacher or aide take those students and read them a book etc...
If my child was in a class of say 27 and 1 kid didnt celebrate so the whole class couldnt i'd be really mad!!
that parent should just not send her child into school that day!
And even though she doesnt celebrate it there is no reason why her child cant learn about it through books etc.
