Choose a pot large enough to hold the amount of corn you want to cook, with room for water to cover the corn. Bring water to a boil on high heat. Add husked FRESH corn ears and cook three to four minutes.
The fresher the corn the less time it takes to cook.

Fresh corn cooks much quicker then frozen......I wouldn't cook it any longer than 5 minutes...

I cook mine 8-10 minutes. I have a great recipe too if you're interested.
I mix fresh corn (taken off the cob -- stand the flat end in a bowl, and run a sharp knife down the sides) with scallions, fresh thyme, salt, and pepper. Delish!

i NEVER cook corn in a pot anymore. I cook it in the microwave--- I put it in either a plastic ziplock bag and leave it a little open or I wrap them individually in plastic wrap. Then I cook them for 18 mins, 6 ears at a time.
It tastes SO much better--- I think when it gets boiled a lot of the juices flow out into the water. Plus it's one less pot to clean and you don't have to worry about boiling water burning you (though I warn you to use a pot holder when taking them out of the microwave because they are HOT!!!)

That is a great idea! Have to try that we have tons of corn in the freezer that we bought out east
