I wonder how much of that stuff we will really need? I liked your other post b/c I WAY over registered for my bridal shower and in turn got a lot of random things and not what I needed so I'm worried about that.

I keep taking things off and putting them on the registry.. I hate clutter, and to waste $ and family and friends $ on stuff we don't need....

This is the stuff we didn't use:

Gear (Sarah is tall so only fit in her infant seat until 6 months, I was glad that I registered for a convertible seat and got both as gifts)

Car seat base for 2nd car - our 2nd car is at the station all week and we only use my car with Sarah anyway, it's much safer.

Sling or soft carrier - we have one but i've never used it.

Activity (We have and used all of these)

Safety (Again, we have all this stuff, the gate and corner guards we just started needing now that she's crawling)

Diapering
Diaper pails and refills (I just use a garbage can and take the bag out every night)
powder (Actually baby powder isn't safe. Use cornstarch if you must)

Layette (for newborn to 6 months)
Layette sets (still have no idea what these are)
Receiving blankets (I like to put these on top of the changning table on the pack & play so it's not so cold on her bum, also use them in the dr's office when she is nekkid and we are waiting for the doctor to come in)

Nursery
Crib blankets (not supposed to use blankets in a crib)
Changing table (we have a small room, when the mattress was high I changed her in the crib, now I just change her on the floor)

Baby Care (used all this stuff)

Toys, Rattles & More
Crib mirror (her mobile had a small one on it)

Feeding (I ended up formula feeding, so I returned my unopened breast pump)
Lap pads (we have them, never used them)
Bottle sterilizer (you can run them through the dishwasher to sterilize or put them in boiling water)

Bathing (we used all this stuff)

Books, Music & More (we used most of this stuff, it's optional)

Travel & Weather
Snap 'N Go Stroller Frame (we have this, so easy when you are using the infant seat. i miss it)
Stroller Blanket Bag (just used a heavy blanket)
Stroller Rain Shield (It freaks me out to put her in the plastic, seems like a plastic bag to me.)
Baby Backpack
Portable Feeding Seats

Hope that helps you guys a little. It's amazing how much stuff these little people need (or we convince ourselves they need) Chat Icon
