I am knitting a baby blanket, and was using regular knitting needles. I had a feeling I should have started w/ circular needles from day 1, but for some reason I started w/ regular needles anyway. I have 4 inches knit and am realizing that I should have used circular needles. It's getting really tough to knit...can I transfer my work to circular needles? I am scared I will drop stitches, but is there a way to do this carefully?

I really don't want to start all overChat Icon

When you knit the next row, instead of knitting onto the straight needle, knit onto one of your circular needles. When you finish the row, you will have transferred the stiches to the circular needles. If you're concerned about the stitches falling off the other end, put a rubber stitch holder on the tip of the unused needle, or wrap it with some big rubber bands if you don't have a stitch holder to put on the tip.

Or just slip them on one by one.
