Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
just 1 wall with cabinets, some sort of like terra cotta material tile backsplash, granite counter top, in the draws in cabinets on the bottom we dont have much storage space so I wanted those draws that pull out and a wood cutlery divider in 2 draws. 2 of the cabinets will have glass and one edge will be open. a sink- the dishwasher we allready have. Im clueless to the prices of these things but before I go ahead with it i want to make sure its the norm.

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
it actually sounds pretty good.
the cabinets are the pricey part. how big is your kitchen? how may linear feet of cabinets did you order? (top and bottom)
granite is expensive too if you have a lot to cover (I think about $50 a sq foot - most counters are 26 inches deep)
if the materials work out, the labor price seems really good

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
My FFIL is a kitcchen designer. He redid our original 1953 kitchen. We have a VERY tiny kitchen and the wholesale price of our cabinets alone was $11K. We paid FH's cousin the labor and it was $7K. FFIL did the job for his cost. That's not the total cost, not included appliances, tile, etc.

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
We are getting ready to order our cabinets. We have decided to do the installation and tiling ourselves. The total cost of cabinets and solid surface (corian) counter is $5000.

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
That sounds like a good price to me. Our cabinets were about $5K and the countertop $3K.

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
we're doing ours now. Our cabinets alone are $12K. We got quotes of $5-10K for the installation (which we're doing oursleves).

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
that price sounds pretty good. Our cabinets and granite counter top came out to about 13k and we did the install on our own.

its only for 100 inches. the wall is small.

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
My countertop and cabinets came to about $11K - plus another few thousand for appliances and other materials. Even doing all the labor ourselves we still spent about $16K (and our kitchen is tiny).
So your price sounds great!

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
I am soooo confused. I am hearing from people that it may be too much. Ok picture this: the wall space is only 100 inches long . there will be 6 doors up top of cabinets and on bottom, 1 cabinet with the shelf that slides above that a wood cutlery draw, under sink cabinet and next to that 4 draws. thats it. then its a granite countertop that will go over the dishwasher. the dishwasher is next to the 4 draws. and then a tile backsplash. it really isnt much cabinetry at all. ahhhhhhhh i dont know

Re: Anyone having their kitchen re done?
Cabinetry and all wood related products have gotten very expensive in recent years.
What type of cabinets are they? They can vary a lot in price.
My FFIL got us Richmaid cabinets, beautiful all solid wood throughout. they were semi-custom because we have such a small kitchen we got rid of our soffets and have extra tall cabinets and a custom pantry. His wholesale cost before markup was $11,000
He told me he priced out a small addition onto a pre-existing kitchen for a couple. A breakfast bench and a floor to ceiling section of three cabinets (maybe 4 feet) and that job was $8K.
