Teenagers really don't deserve the reputation they get
I just have to share this story. We had a fire drill this morning in the freezing rain, and I was standing out there in the clump of kids. I had my arms wrapped around myself (no jacket, of course) when a junior boy came over to me and insisted that I use his sweatshirt until we went back in. (He was in my class last year, not this year.) When I tried to tell him that he needed it more, he wouldn't listen. As I told him, chivalry really is not dead. He totally made my day (and reaffirmed my faith in the future.)

I think teenagers get a bad rep. I really, truly believe that the majority of them are great kids. Great story

oh wow! That's really sweet. It's good to hear something like that. Although I disagree about the reputation thing... the teenagers at my school for the most part really are rude & disrespectful. But I'm glad to hear that there are some good ones out there who still have manners & concern for others.

I'm sorry to hear that the kids in your school are rude and disrespectful. That really stinks. In my school, I've generally noticed that this kind of behavior (like what I described from today) is the rule, not the exception. I have so many good stories I could tell. They are pretty terrific. I feel really lucky to know them.
