Help for the cooking impaired - microwavable entrees
I need to make something for the holiday luncheon at work.
I'd like it to be an entree but they're only having sternos to heat the food. We have a microwave available but I feel like that ruins it.
Is there anything that you can suggest that would be good?

Re: Help for the cooking impaired - microwavable entrees
One year someone brought chili in a crockpot and that was a hit at our potluck. Obviously, the foot kept warm that way.
Dips are always a hit.
One year, someone brought in pizza rolls, the little frozen square things, microwaved them, and everyone went ga-ga for some reason.

What about the microwavable meats at costco? I absolutely LOVE the london broil. 7 minutes in the microwave and it is soooooo tasty!!!
You could slice it real thin and serve with some rolls

how about a pasta dish? like a baked ziti or a penne ala vodka? it always holds up well and I always feel that pasta tastes better the next day!

i agree wtih teh crockpot idea... you have to have a plug somewhere in your office- LOL theres a TON of great chili's soups, stews, etc you could do... you could even make it ahead, and then that day just put it in the crockpot and set it on "warm"

I agree with the crockpot idea as well. Since you work in the city, you could take the crockpot in with you on one day, and the meal on the day needed.

Penne with Vodka Sauce Make the sauce. Make the pasta that morning don't refrigerate it though. Maybe just put it in a cooler. Warm sauce in microwave. Put the hot sauce on the pasta and there you go!
