Traveling with Macaroni & Cheese

I'm making Mac & Cheese for Thanksgiving, but I will need to transport it from Queens to Albany. Could anyone please please tell me how to transport my mac & cheese without ruining it (also, tips for reheating would be great too)! TIA!

Re: Traveling with Macaroni & Cheese

can you make it in a casserole? that way you can just cover it with foil and reheat in the oven.

ETA: you can pretty much reheat anything at 350 for 1/2 hour if it's room temp, longer if it's been refrigerated.

Thank you! I was going to make it in a casserole. Do I need to keep it in a cooler while I'm in the car or will it be okay just sitting out (covered with tin foil of course!)? I'm just nervous about it spoiling because it has dairy in it.

I think it will be okay for the drive. Just make sure you put it in the fridge when you get there or heat it up to eat!

Keep it in the shade in your car. I don't imagine it would be too warm to spoil. I probably would put an ice pack on it to keep it cool if the ride was longer than 2 hours or so though.
