Holiday Cocktail Party Menu
DH & I are hosting our 1st holiday cocktail party. I have an idea for a menu, what do you all think? (We will be hosting from 7-10:30ish and then going out...)
Sushi platter with brown & white rice (48 pieces),Spanikopita, pigs in a blanket,Thin crust pizzas. I am getting everything from Fresh direct, but I wonder if it is enough? We are having about 10-12 guests. SHould I make a ziti or lasagna?
Ack. I have always been the guest.

So far your items sound great!! I do think however that you do need one more thing. If you can swing a small "dinner like dish" i would do that. LIke the ziti you mentioned. Or a mexican dip or something "hearty"

Re: Holiday Cocktail Party Menu
I agree.... a few 'spoon some out for yourself' dishes would probably be perfect. Something mexican with chips, indian curries, swedish meatballs.... or the ziti...
oh, and baked brie with raspberry preserves is always a hit. (cut an inexpensive camembert in half, spread a thick layer of preserves in the middle, and reassemble the cheese. Cover in puff pastry, do an eggwash, and bake at 400 until the pastry is golden, roughly 15 min. let cool 5 min before cutting into it and serve with french bread

Re: Holiday Cocktail Party Menu
I think you need a veggie platter with some kind of dip. Sounds great!
