help cooking steaks

My BBQ is not working should i bake or broil the steaks in my oven...what temp? and how long for medium. the steaks are pretty thick.

500 broil... probably takes 7 minutes on each side.. but i would test it ... after like 5 on the second side... i assume you are cooking a sirloin or a london broil... you said it was thick!

if you have a cast iron skillet, fry it on very high heat.... heat the skillet up while empty, add oil (it should smoke a tad) and put the (room temp) steaks on it.... similar cooking time to grilling as long as its hot.... Just like grilling, flip only once, and avoid over cooking. well-done steaks are

otherwise broil. Never bake a steak!
