Re: We get the dog on Monday
Thats good.
Simba's been a real mush today. I think he's tired because hubby took him on a 2 hour exercise and walk today. So he's been curling up on the couch and just sleeping.
Though I did catch him in the bed

Re: We get the dog on Monday
Yeah, it's really important to give him tons of walk time and play time. Then he will settle down and nap, etc.

Re: We get the dog on Monday
He definately gets tons of walk and play time. Every morning hubby takes him on an hour walk. This gives me time to get ready for work and do what I have to do. Then they come home and play catch. He goes on another short walk before hubby leaves for work. I get home and we go on an hour walk and come home to play. Then at 11pm hubby and I take him on another walk. Then bed time.
He is such an active puppy. We make sure he gets plenty of play, exercise and rest

Re: We get the dog on Monday
Jen Have you read the book "do you speak dog?"
It's a really good book and helps with obediance and behavior. A guy DH works with lent him the book and it is really informative.
For example: if you are sitting on the couch and the dog comes over to you and puts his head or paw on you and then tries to climb on you or push you out of your spot he is telling you he is the boss. You are moving for him. He is the dominent one. And by allowing him to do that you are surrendering to his needs.
Also when you are giving a command say the dogs name first then the command. If the command is said first then his name (sit simba) all he hears is his name and nothing else. But if you say simba sit he will listen because he knows it is being directed to him.
