Cookie Cutter Question
I made sugar cookies last week and used a cookie cutter for the first time. They tasted yummy, but the cookies "grew." Is there a trick to get them to come out like the cookie cutter and not distorted so to speak? TIA!

Re: Cookie Cutter Question
yeah, I have issues with that too
Partly, its the recipe... but 'spread' in the oven is enhanced when the dough is room temp prior to baking.... so cut the cookies out, and chill them for 15 min before baking.... it helps a little...

Re: Cookie Cutter Question
Too much grease on the cookie sheet (if you even used grease) can make the cookies spread too much.
You definitely need to refridgerate the raw cookies (on the cookie sheet) before you put them in the oven.
Also, too much fat in the recipe from not measuring exactly could throw them off too.
