when do you start baking for Christmas?
I work full time in Manhattan (long hours) and my ILs are coming the Friday after Christmas for "Christmas dinner" and to spend the weekend. I LOVE to bake for the holidays and I want whatever I serve them to taste good / be fresh.
How far in advance can I make the cookies? I know some bread in the tin will keep them soft, but will they keep a week? Or should I suck it up and bake Thursday night before they come as I'm planning?
I'm also making chocolate covered pretzels and homemade chocolates, which I can make ahead of time, I know...

ooooh.. whatcha making?
-Homemade Chocolates -Chocolate Covered Pretzels -Brownies -"Brownie Muffins" (lowfat, but delicious) -Chocolate Chip Cookies -Possibly Sugar Cookies if I can muster the motivation and find cookie cutters - Chocolate cream pie with choice of homemade whip cream or homemade peppermint whip cream (This I know I Have to make the day before or morning of - and the whip cream right before we serve it) - Ice cream cake (if I can find the spring pan...)
I'm wondering how far in advance I can make the cookies and brownies so they'll still taste good / fresh...
