How many trays of hot food do you think I need for 65 adults?
I am inviting 75 adults and 15 kids (who I will have chicken nuggets and fries for) to DS's 1st b-day. I am guestimating around 65 people. I always have so much food left over that winds up going to waste. I was also thinking of getting a hero as well...
I am thinking of getting penne a la vodka, chicken francaise, a strawberry salad, roasted red potatoes and than another meat dish (which I am undecided about). So do you think 1 tray or 2 trays of all the dishes? Maybe a tray and a half? I am also going to have appetizers passed around before dinner which I know people usually fill up on.

you should ask your caterer...they can guide you on how much you will need.

If you are doing a hero too, I would go with 2 trays of each food item (8 all together).
For reference, we had a christmas gtg last year and 17 people went through 2 1/2 trays of food along with a ridiculous amount of appetizers served before dinner.

I would go with 2 trays of most of them. There may be some where you could do a tray and a half.
