Bringing dessert to a party...
My neighbors are hosting an "after-Christmas" party this coming weekend and I'm bringing some macarons: They arrive similar to the photo above, but with more saran wrap & plastic in order to keep them from breaking (they're very fragile.) It's not very pretty packaging...much more utilitarian.
So here's my question...
* Do I bring them as they're packaged?
or
* Should I buy a dessert plate, open the package and arrange the macarons on a plate so the hosts don't have to do it?

I would arrange them on a dessert platter and wrap in clear cellophane & add a bow.

Re: Bringing dessert to a party...
As someone who hosts a lot of parties for family/friends, I would place them on a platter for your host. Decorate the platter with nice ribbons/bows. This allows the host to uncover and place on a table for everyone to enjoy without doing any other work.

I think the dessert plate is a nice thought.
Those look delicious.
