Resume question
Is it okay to have a 2 page resume? Is it overwhelming to the people who are looking to hire you? My resume is 2 pages. I added my student teaching which was done 7 years ago. I've been teaching for 5 years since that. Should I delete the student teaching? Also how big should the font be on a resume? Thank you in advance for all your help!

Re: Resume question
2 pages is fine...as long as eberything is relevant and in chronological order from most recent.

Re: Resume question
Two pages is fine. Be sure to put it on two different sheets of paper and not double sided.

Re: Resume question
IMHO - I think 2 pages is too much for 5 years experience. I would just list the student teaching in 2 lines (1. district and date; 2. student teaching/practicum (whatever you choose to call it) and grade level/subject)
also keep in mind, almost all applications are now online and if they print out the resume - the second page could get easily lost.

Re: Resume question
I think I used a 12 font. My resumé was 2 pages, it looked nice, I had a lot of teaching, computer, and extra curricular experience that I wanted to be included. Unless your student teaching had something great that you could add, I would delete it.

Re: Resume question
I remember being told in college that a resume shouldn't be more than 1 page.

I just finished student teaching, and they told us the same.

Re: Resume question
i had a two page resume... but i also had experience outside of teaching that i wanted to share (international service work, working in higher education, etc.) i got asked more questions about the non-teaching stuff on my resume more than the teaching stuff...they were very interested in that because it was unique.
If you have only taught and nothing else, i would keep the resume to one page. also, i would keep student teaching on there but get rid of all the bullets of what you did.... the name of the school and dsitrct, grade level and dates you completed it (one line) should be sufficient.

Re: Resume question
i wouldn't do 2 pages, especially with only 5 years of teaching. if you were teaching 20+ years, that's a different story
take out the "fluff" (which we all have!) and the student teaching. take out any college related activities if you still have them on there
1 page is all you should have IMO

Re: Resume question
When I was student teaching - they said the resume could be two pages so I would not delete anything that you had. JMO
Be sure to write everything in chronological order from most recent going backwards and using "strong" verbs to illustrate what you have done at your school/in your position.
