Re: CM question

I think you are supposed to O from the first day you see EWCM until the morning of your temperature rise.

If you aren't charting try and BD tonight if you can- if not definitely keep BD until your EWCM dries up. It is normal to have a few days of EWCM.

ETA: Your peak day is the last day you have EWCM- I think. (redstar?-I'm not sure!) This could be your peak day and your temps could rise tomorrow so definitely try and BD tonight!

Re: CM question

The egg after ovulation lives at the most 24 hours,...sometimes as short as 12 hours. Ideally you want sperm in the tubes waiting for the egg. However, many people do conceive when bding the morning of their thermal shift. In other words, they could have ovulated in the evening and bded, and caught the egg.

Always bd, until you are positive you ovulated. If your temps took a thermal shift (three biphasic temps will give you a coverline) and if your cervix is low and closed, you already O'd.

There are all sorts of theories. Some doctors believe that bding every other night is more effective than every night. Sometimes too much sperm can counteract the purpose. Some people bd several times a day and conceive. There really isn't a 'perfect' system. I say, if you have good CM and your DH has good count.. bding today and tomorrow may work out well. If you aren't certain about sperm count, you may want to bd every other day.

Re: CM question

Ovulation is literally the rupturing of the follicule..and the egg being released.

When you get ewcm that means the estrogen in your body is surging. Estrogen level increases right before O. Some people, have higher estrogen levels and they last over more days. Therefore giving them a longer time period of fertile mucus. Unfortunately as we age, estrogen can be an issue and therefore we have less CM. Ariella is right....ewcm is what our bodies release leading up to O. Once we ovulate...the estrogen levels decrease and the mucus turns creamier.

Rule of thumb, when you see ewcm, bd ! Unless you have pcos and therefore, you will have ewcm often and not necessarily during a fertile time period.

Okay looking at your chart, I would predict today as O day. You have a nice dip (estrogen surges, your temps decrease). I would BD TODAY FOR SURE :) .... If you check your cp,...and it's high and open that's also a great sign.

It's funny you mention this, I always have ewcm and I most likely have pcos. Why do people w/pcos have this? and how do we know when we ovulate? thanks for all the information.
