Is this too early??

Our international flight is at 9AM out of JFK on a weekday in February. We are 1 1/2 hours from the airport. Is 4AM too early for the car to pick us up? That is 5 hours before the flight... I know they want you there 3 hours before but that is just insane having to get up at 3AM.

i've flown internationally several times and i think that is MORE than enough time. leaving that early you will will fly there, not much traffic at all.... and that early you will probably breeze through security too...

if anything, i think you gave yourself too much time, but better safe than sorry, i guess

Thanks, I am scared of weather, traffic and well waking my children up at 4AM
