LP DEFECT
I was just looking at my charts in FF and noticed that 2 of the past 3 cycles my lp has only been 10 days....its usually 11-12 but I've been noticing shorter ones now. I'm not on meds and had my first IUI this month...
Anyone have any luck with vitamin B6?
could this be a problem?

Re: LP DEFECT
B6 can help but really I wouldn't rely on it. I would get a p4 test done at 7 dpo (serum progesterone test). If progesterone is low, the Re will prescribe suppositories and come up with a protocol for you.
Progesterone is a key element. You need it for the uterus to be inviting for implantation and to sustain pg.

Thanks. I'll have to bring that up to my RE next visit.

Re: LP DEFECT
I take B complex. I was having a LP problem. I would have a 9 day LP one month and the next month an 11 day LP. Then it would alternate every month. I started taking B-50 complex and it added 2 days to my LP. Well usually. I just started taking about a month or so ago a B-100 complex to see if it would lengthen it even more, but I haven't seen a difference yet. I also had my progesterone checked a 7dpo and it came back fine, but I was still having a short LP. I would definitely try it. It can't hurt! A LOT of women over on Fertility friend take it and for most it helps, but not everyone. Good luck!

Re: LP DEFECT
How much B-6 are you taking?
Is it safe to take the high amount during the 2WW?
Just wondering....I'm taking 54mg (including the amount in my prenatal) but I am thinking about taking only 29mg in the 2WW.
I've only charted once but my luteal phase was 11 days - almost 12- AF came at 11:30pm!

Re: LP DEFECT
I looked on the internet and it seems as if 100mg/day max is okay for preggers.
I'm still nervous to take that much in the 2WW because what if, with food, I go above the 100mg- it says that over 100mg in the first trimester can cause birth defects...this is so frustrating!

Re: LP DEFECT
I read that too, that's why I figured I'd start with the 50mg, plus the 15mg in the pre-natals and with the foods I eat.
I'm going to see what happens with this amount first and if there is still no change consult with my RE about it....

Re: LP DEFECT
I'm going to start with 50mg until I 0 and then 25mg plus the 4mg in the prenatals in the 2WW- maybe I will up it!
