Is it OK...
... for pregnant woman to paint?!? I so want to re-do my bedroom!!! We will be starting in January and I will be about 5 months... If I wear one of those ventilation masks it will be ok... Right?!?

I would check with your Dr... we had our house painted ( we did not do it ourselves) and the dr told me to make sure it was well ventilated etc... not sure if they would recommend you doing the painting yourself.

I wouldn't.
We are moving into our home and my husband has been painting - i refuse to go see the house right now because of the fumes.

I don't think it's the greatest idea, but if you must, just wear a mask & keep the windows open. Doesn't paint have ammonia or something in it to make it dry faster? I know when our house was painted, it really stunk!

I didn't. DH painted everything. I would suggest avoiding it and the fumes...

I painted...it was during my "nesting" stage. As long as the paint is water based and not lead based you're ok. I asked the doctor.

I was 7 months when I painted my bedroom. I wore a mask and kept the windows open. I did speak with my MD about it and I believe she said it was fine if it was not acrylic and I wore a mask.

We pained our entire house I was sick of seeing contractors beige from our new construction and I knew we would have no chance to do it after the baby.
My doc said it was ok to just be careful, take my time and use a certain paint:)

I painted with my DH at 6 months pregnant.. The fumes werent bad at all. But it was september and all the windows were open. I would just make sure its well ventilated.

Thanks for the info ladies. I called my doctor and he said painting was fine just make sure its a well ventilated area, blah, blah, blah! Basically EVERYTHING you ladies said!
I love decorating and trying different paint patterns! DH won't do it the way I would!!!
