Personal Trainer -- UPDATED
So, beginning Tuesday I am trying out a personal trainer. Bad news is...it's EXPENSIVE Good news is, I don't pay until I find one I'm happy with .
What do you look for in a trainer? How do I know if they are the "right" one for me?
Update at bottom.

Re: Personal Trainer
I have a trainer and I wanted someone who is VERY STRICT and who will push me to a certain level.
My trainer is pretty much experience and she is very strict and she also find ways to motivate me and to trick me into doing alot more. She also has a great personality as well and she is very loyal and dedicated.

Reminds me of that commercial
mike said that I can't have a guy because if I go on a weight bench and he spots me, I'll get..Well, you know...bagged.

Re: Personal Trainer
You'll just know if you "click" with him/her...I've had some that are totally focused on me and my progress and others who are more into socializing with everyone around them while I do my reps. I prefer stricter trainers who really care about how I"m doing... Good luck to you!!

Re: Personal Trainer
Thanks everyone
So, I met with him and he is really nice. He's about my age (I'm guessing) and really cool. He didn't push me too hard, and he did encourage me when it was getting difficult and he saw me struggling a little. He works with a lot of women who are post partum and want to get into shape and I was really surprised at how nice he was. I was expecting a drill sargent.
so, I signed up for 50 hours. Wish me luck

Re: Personal Trainer -- UPDATED
No, not too personal, I don't mind
3,650 for 50 hours
You can buy 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100. 25 hours was I think 78 per hour and 50 hours was 73 per hour so that's a really nice savings which is why I got the 50 hours. Going twice a week it will last abut 6 months.

Another reason I'm glad I'm not in NY. Ours are about $32 an hour here. I'm trying to sway DH that I need one. Good luck. When I used a trainer back in TN I did so much better than on my own.

That is a MUCH more reasonable price.
I really feel like I need this, which is why I'm doing it. Maybe after this one I will go down to once a week, one hour session or two 1/2 hour sessions so that I can stretch it out a bit.
