AAA members
Is it worth it to get a AAA membership for travel discounts for Disney? Are the savings that good through AAA?

I got a quote from AAA last week and it's the exact same price as Disney, so I was bummed, but I understand that, in general, you can do better with AAA.

It depends - AAA gets x amount of packages for each night at each hotel - once those are gone then you pay the rack rate if you book thru them unless you have a code - so if you pay rack or have a code you don't need AAA. Having said that we saved I think about $300-400 on our current package thru AAA. In the past I booked myself thru disney b.c I had a code and got the best rate from them. Since I got a good rate from AAA I book this trip thru them - but I still watch for codes and will have them add the code if it comes out cheaper than the rate they are giving me.
AAA IMO is worth it whether you use it for disney or not. I have saved a lot of money on car rentals, hotels, and other items over the years with the card. You can also use it for discounts at local places like zoos, amusement parks etc.

We got a great deal on a Disney package with AAA. But we're members to begin with. I don't think I'd sign up just for that reason.
