Ok...not traveling abroad

Thank you for the passport ideas in the other threadChat Icon Joe and I do not wish to travel outside of the us...what are so good ideas for 3-4 days and for 7-8 days. We're looking to spend $600-$700 on the 3-4 day trip and $2000 on the 7-8 day trip. We live in MI if that helps! TIA

Re: Ok...not traveling abroad

How about visiting some of the Natl Parks out West. My parents just travelled to the Grand Canyon and they said it was beautiful, and only 4 other cars were with them in the park.

Re: Ok...not traveling abroad

Have you been to California?

When DH & I started dating, we took a trip out to California and drove up the coast. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of driving too ...

We flew into San Diego, went to the zoo, etc. stayed for a weekend.

Drove up to Carmel/Monterey ... went to see the Hearst Castle, had a really nice romantic dinner that over looks the cliffs.

Drove east to Lake Tahoe, stayed at Caesars, relaxed, gambled, etc.

Drove north to San Francisco ... went to an Oakland A's game. We were supposed to stay in Oakland, but were actually afraid when we arrived at the hotel we had booked (Holiday Inn) so we took the loss on the room, and splurged on a suite in San Francisco that overlooked the bay and Alcatraz.

Flew home from the Oakland airport.
