Re: Felicia! Any news?

Thanks girls, I appreciate your prayers, support and kindness more than you'll ever know!!

Just to update AGAIN: as of tonight- STILL NO AF .. STILL BFNs ... I feel PMSy but nothing severe. I honestly do not feel the way I do when AF is definitely coming ... BUT I don't know WHAT I feel anymore. I just feel run down and spacy and bloated .. but I think my body is playing some nasty tricks on me Chat Icon

I am just at a loss Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks Kathy Chat Icon

The thing is, this really isn't an unusually long cycle for me. I'm always very irregular. I'm at CD38 today and usually my typical cycle can be anywhere from 40-50 ... this month I actually *thought* I was on a shorter cycle (for me) because I had thought I ovulated earlier than I usually do- so yeah, I think I screwed up!Chat Icon

SO when I called my doctor yesterday morning she wasn't overly concerned by my cycle length. She told me to try and hold out until Monday - if I still didn't get AF and still keep getting BFNs I will go in on Monday morning for bloodwork, exam, etc.

I honestly don't even care if AF shows up anymore, I just want some resolution at this point Chat Icon

Re: Felicia! Any news?

Flee, why do some have long cycles like yourself? 28-32 days is the 'norm', but why not for youChat Icon

Ahh I wish I knew! I honestly don't know why some of us have erratic or irregular (long) cycles and others do not .. I have had this my entire life, since I first started menstruating, and was always given the gamut of tests (blood work, etc) by my gynos over the years.. and nothing ever really turned up to determine WHY. It does run in my family (mom and grandma both had long cycles too) so it seems to be genetic in my case.

For me, I have noticed over the years that when I put on weight and am heavier, my cycles are a lot longer and more irregular -- whereas when I am slimmer/a normal weight my cycles regulate themselves.. so since I'm at a heavier weight now Chat Icon it doesn't surprise me that things are haywire Chat Icon

It's weird, but sounds genetic to me, too. Must have been great only having AF visit only about 9x/year when you were younger & dreaded the visits during partying & enjoying your life irresponsibly. And now dread that she doesn't come soon enough to restart the cycle & charting again. Life works weird, doesn't it? Chat Icon

The huge positive is that no matter how long your cycle is, you CAN still get pg... and your mom & grandmother are proof of that. Do you know if they had a hard time TTC when they had your their children?
