Well I'm totally bummed
DH won a trip to Vegas at work, while I'm very excited about the trip, I'm really upset about the dates.
We are going to be flying home on our First Anniversary. He just spoke to one of the manager's and they said that they are going to make the flights for as late as possible that day.
So there is no chance for us to celebrate. I wanted to go to East Wind for dinner, then come home and have our cake.
And to top it off, we planned our own trip to Niagara Falls and leave the very next day. So we will be flying into JFK that night go home to sleep and then turn around to go back to JFK the following morning.
I guess we have to celebrate a week late, although it won't be the same. It just bothers me so such that this is our FIRST anniversary.
I am really happy that he won the trip - the timing just stinks.
Ok, pitty party for me is now over. Thanks for listening.

Uh...I wish i had a problem like yours....2 celebrations for my anniversary!
don't be sad--just be happy you get extra time to celebrate...i know its not quite how you planned it would be --but its better than nothing. heck DH and i can't go away for our 1st anniversary--i wish we could--but schedules just won't work.

Re: Well I'm totally bummed
Honestly, its just a day. By being "totally bummed" you are missing out on all the fun you could have. While the exact date of anniversary is nice, you are basically vactioning together for a week.
I would focus on the fact that you are married a year and all the wonderful things you do together, rather than what you are going to do on that date.

As long as your are together, don't worry about it. There are 24 hrs in a day and you'll only be spending, what 6 of them in the air... enjoy your DH's company
Congrats on 1 year

Re: Well I'm totally bummed
Thanks everyone - you guys made me feel a lot better about it!
Don't know why this got moved to Travel though. It was really more about my anniversary not the trip.

That sounds awesome! Celebrate and eat your cake before or after the anniversary. It doesn't have to be the exact day. Congrats for winning the trip.
