That awesome area right UNDER the butt....
how do you tighten/tone it???? I am guessing mad lunges and treadmill on the incline. I do tons of power yoga, and still, that area upsets me. I have a high, firm rear (LOL) but right under that has always been an issue. I'm guessing it is for most women. I'm thin and in nice shape, so I don't get it. LOL. Help....
edit: even skinny paris hilton and mischa barton have it...i have seen photos online and they both admit to it. even money can't solve it! (well, i guess it could get lipo'd but i'm all about working it into shape)

The part that sticks out of the bathing suit? I'm always so embarrassed by it I totally want to know how to get rid of it!

mine doesn't really stick out....it's just like baby fat looking. and LOL...if you lean forward like a pinup model, it's gone...but standing straight up and turning around in a harsh mirror...is like, gah!

I'd so rather that than having it stick out But I bet that is the cut of my bathing suit. I know what you mean though, it's annoying.

Re: That awesome area right UNDER the butt....
are you interested in using weights? i've found the best results for that area to be using 2 or 3 different types of weight machines at the gym.

Re: That awesome area right UNDER the butt....
Good mornings (the exercise) really hit that area.
Just make sure to keep your lower back flat!

Re: That awesome area right UNDER the butt....
any kind of glute/hamstring leg lift. You know the ones where you have your forearms on the floor, keep the back flat, and lift your leg up?
I do reps with legs straight then with knee bent - full range of motion and I add pulses in there too do it til it burrrrrns!! there's another one I do with this sequence but I have a hard time putting it into words.... if you have a resistance band, it's great to put one end around your ankle, and hold the other end tight with your hand to up the resistance. Or you can hold a weight in the crook of your knees when you do the leg lifts with knee bent.
What I also do...when I do chest flies or chest press- I do it on a stability ball, head/neck/shoulders balanced on the ball, hips up. Keeping that isometric hold on the butt really burns while you're working your chest! If there's any upper body exercise i can do while keeping an isometric hold or anything to do with the butt, I add it!!
I also LOOOVE dead lifts.
Another lunge that's great....I hope I can describe it okay on here. It's a single leg lunge, stationary. Your legs should be spread apart further than you normally would go. When you go down for the lunge, you lean forward with your upper body (careful with the back) and go down as low as you can go - you REALLY feel it in the hamstring/glute area! I wouldn't do too many of those - if your form isn't good you could hurt your back.
HTH!

I'm not great with names of exercises but I know one of the machines I use is the hip abduction (in a seated position with your legs together, push your legs out in a v position) and that works your butt and the area below your butt. There's also an exercise where you lay on your stomach and push your leg up/back. That works the front and back of your legs. I will look at the names of the machines and the specific muscles it works and let you know.
I use these machines every other day and do three sets, 15 reps a set.
TMI but I have some dimpling back there that has evened out a lot since using these machines
