Yesterday, I had...
a thrower-upper!!! My motto is leave the room. If you feel it coming on, just leave, it's okay. This little girl said, "Mrs. X, AAA is going to throw up.!" So I say, okay, go, go to the nurse, just go!
Then and "Ewwwww!!!!" Okay, I say, it's okay, just go to the nurse!
What does she do? Stand there! Just stand there!!! Okay, honey, go to the nurse. Again, she just stands there.
"Ewwwwwww!" Really helping guys!
Finally, after I yell (not a trouble yell, but can you hear me yell) go to the nurse, it's okay, but go to the nurse, she goes, but tosses her notebook with remnants on it on a desk
After I situate the kids who were right near the sight and calm them down, I write a nurse pass and send it down.
I don't get why they just STAND there! It's like they panic and are in shock, but seriously, goooooo!!!!
Seriously, when will this virus just go away??? I've had enough throwing up this year!

Re: Yesterday, I had...
I too have the golden rule of throwing up.... get out at all costs
So a month ago I was covering a class, and one of my students said he didn't feel well. I asked him if he would like to go to the bathroom, and he didn't make it. He got sick right on the floor. I only wish it stopped there... but 2 more students followed suit
I couldn't get mad, as it all went down very quickly. And it also wasn't my classroom

Re: Yesterday, I had...
I threw up in class in 5th grade and I just sat there b/c I wasn't feeling well and couldn't do much else.
If it happens in your room - do you have an option to go to the library? If it's open, you can bring the class in and just read a book until it's cleaned up

Re: Yesterday, I had...
A couple of years ago, I was leaving my room to go to another class, and a kid who I'd had for two years (but was no longer in my class) came stumbling into that room, leaned on a desk, and then just... threw up. It was awful -- and this was a senior in high school. I mostly felt terrible for him, though, because not only was he miserable, but he was SO embarrassed. Yuck -- talk about one of those moments you wish everyone would forget.
