Lots of Vegas questions!

We are going to Vegas the first week in April. We got tickets to see Spamalot while we are there and were thinking of doing one of the live gameshows... has anyone been to either Price is Right Live or $250,000 game show? Which is better? Is it worth it? We thought it sounded like fun!

We are also looking for some ideas/suggestions on places to eat. We may go somewhere expensive one night but we are looking more for moderately priced restaurants. We are planning on doing a buffet for breakfast (probably Paris) and one for dinner (I heard Rio is good- anyone know?)... I definetly want Chocolate Crepes from the Paris for dessert. I looked at the stratosphere menu and the food is not really what we like.

So, suggestions on restaurants (breakfast, lunch and dinner would be great), plus the types of food they serve and an idea of prices would be great! We are not seafood eaters...
We will be staying at MGM but the monorail is in the hotel so we are willing to travel to the other end of the strip.

Any other ideas or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Re: Vegas: Price is Right Live or $250,000 Game Show... plus other questions!

I thought about doing the game show shows when I was there last (I am a game shot nut!) but when I looked at the prices, it didn't seem worth it. I guess I thought "why would I pay to watch other people win money?" If I didn't get picked to play, I assumed it would be boring.

If you do go, I would LOVE to hear about it.

My FAVORITE lunch place in Vegas.. is Toby Keith's I love this bar and grill. We stumbled upon it 3 Vegas trips ago and go for lunch every time. It's in the back of Harrah's. One of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. Chat Icon

I'll let you know if we go to one of the game shows. I feel a little like you do but I think it would be a lot of fun! We are planning to buy all tickets before we go so I should know soon...

Re: Lots of Vegas questions!

The Rio buffet is a great buffet.

I love Delmonicos Steakhouse for a great dinner.

There is a chocolate crepe place in Paris across from the Buffet that is excellent.

There is a really nice food court in Caesars called the Cypress Street Marketplace, I think. I liked that for lunch.

My in-laws have done Price is Right in AC and loved it.

Re: Lots of Vegas questions!

We REALLY enjoyed the lunch buffet at Wynn. They have a dinner one too- it was great and I am not HUGE on buffets.

We were told by some people at our hotel that we met to skip the Rio buffet because it is glorified sizzler (with seafood of course) but we do not have first hand knowledge of this.

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel (our hotel-which we loved) is REALLY great!

The breakfast buffet at Bellagio is overrated IMO- we went- I enjoyed it but it was not wonderful and DH did not enjoy himself at all.

Re: Lots of Vegas questions!

I went to the Price is Right show and it was a lot of fun. One of my friends was kind of skeptical in the beginning, but wound up having a good time. Once it started, it was so much fun and everyone is excited to be there. There is a lot of energy in the audience.

Re: Lots of Vegas questions!

I Love This Bar and Grill is sooooooooooooo good. The portions are HUGE so you could definitely split a meal and still be full full full! I'm not a huge fan of buffets but I do like Harrah's and I am a fan of Rio's. Delmonico Steak House is AWESOME and if you love steak check it out. There is a Japanese place in the Flamingo( I can't remember the name) but it is VERY good and I highly suggest it. Try the food network web page also I know Rachael Ray and Giada have done shows there and have LOTS of suggestions. I found that helpful.
