Canned Tomatoes for Sauce?
Which are the best to use???
I am making sauce for the first time this weekend from cans (I usually make it in the summertime with fresh tomatoes).

I also like Tutorosso and Cento.
Sometimes I use the Reinzi..
No help I guess. i don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I usually buy Tutturoso or Cento....
Sometimes I'll buy San Marzano if I have the extra $$$- but they're expensive (or should be, if they are truly from San Marzano, italy- if not, then they aren't true san marzano tomatoes)...
also- makes a difference crushed vs. whole.. sometimes I put one can crushed, one can whole (that I smoosh in my hands).
sometimes I do two cans smooshed whole with 1 can tomato paste...

We also make tomatoes the end of the summer for the year.
Last year we did not make enough and needed to buy the canned tomatoes. I tried every brand the supermarket had and the one that came close to our homemade was Redpack crushed
