Nina Grace's Birth Story (2/22/08)
I really dont have a very exciting birth story being that I had a scheduled C-section but Ill give it a shot...
I was scheduled to deliver  on Friday, 2/22/08 at 11:15 am. DH and I woke up super early, he was excited and I was panicked( I am so afraid of surgery). When we arrived at St. Catherine's hospital I went to admissions and at that time my doctor came out and told me that I was pushed back to 2:30pm  because it seems as though the full moon the night before and the snow storm that day, caused everyone and their sister to go into labor, and there was no room for me! So awesome, I sat around with DH for hours still panicked. Finally at 11:30 they brought me back to labor and delivery to start my IV's and Epidural (epi was not half as bad as I thought it would be). They told me that I would go into the OR at 1:30 and not 2:30 like they thought. I started to freak out at this point and cry that I wanted to go home, DH and my doctor both tried to calm me down, this went on for about 1.5hrs LOL I was miserable. Finally at 1:30 it was time, DH left to go get changed into his scrubs and the doctor and nurses started to prep me, at this point all hell broke loose, I threw up all over myself numerous times   Very embarrassing!!! The anesthesiologist decided to give me an anti-anxiety and I felt amazing!!! DH came in and was like "wow you are doing really well" he had no idea about what had just taken place LOL. Next thing I know, I hear the doctor saying, you're going to feel pressure and pulling, and then I heard the most beautiful sound I had ever heard in my life, my baby girl crying  Nina Grace was born at 1:40pm, weighing in at 6lbs 9oz and 19.5 inches. I lost it and couldn't stop crying. They cleaned her up and gave her to DH to hold while they stitched me up, I wanted to hold her so bad. Once I was all done, they finally let me hold my girl and from that moment on, I felt a type of love I have never thought possible. I knew I would love her, I just didn't think I could love her as much as I do. My recovery as been amazing and I cannot believe that I made myself so sick over nothing!
So that is it! Now we are home and tomorrow my little girl will be 1 week old Image Attachment(s):
