Looking for a school, ETA I live in Patchogue

I am looking for a school for my DS. He will be 3 in June, the daycare that he goes to suggests that the kids go on to the next level by the time they are 3. She sent me to a Montisorre (sp?) school in Brentwood. I am willing to go and check out the school, but it is further from my house than the daycare would be. I am having another DS in June and a 8 year old DD to get on the bus, that would be alot of shuffling in order to catch my reg train into work. The daycare is excellent, he spells his name, knows his colors, shapes, numbers and is in the beginning stages of reading. They will make sure that he is potty trained before he leaves them. I want him to continue to be challenged, I am also interested in a school that is diverse, so that he can identify with other kids that look like him, as well as other races. Any help is appreciated.

I live way out in Nassau, but try this link.

NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) is the top accrediation a daycare or pre-school can have. Maybe there is a school that is accredited by them near you?

not to say schools without this accrediation aren't good, but in the field of early childhood education, their accrediation ensures a higher level of quality.

GOOD LUCK!

there is a montessori school in Brookhaven Hamlet...there is also Bellport Methodist in Bellport Village...Kiddie Kollege in Patchogue/Medford...those are the only ones I can recommend, but there are several others in the area that I have heard good things about...

I live and work in East Patchogue. Brookhaven Elementary School has a pre-school program. (South Country CSD) It's through the public school.
