Lunges and squats...
I started doing these again 2x a week and I can't move! Spin class was very interesting this AM with my sore rear
If you want to target glutes...this is the way to go!!!!

How many reps do you do? Also, do you use weights........or do them with your own body weight.
I DEF have to start getting back into this......... I just have to!!!

I use weights 3 sets of 20 usually 8pd weights

I only use my own body weight and I am a cripple!! I do 2 sets of 15..I will get up to 3 sets eventually...when I can walk again.
I am trying to prevent running injuries!

yes!! lunges and squats are the BEST for your lower body, and squats work your entire body, well, at least when you use heavy weight. But you should really increase your weights over time. 8 lbs is very light, and 20 reps are a bit much for one set.
If you increased your weight and did low reps, you would see improvement 400x faster. Soon you won't see any progression using such light weights.

I also do squats with the bar which weighs 65 pound and I also do 12 reps 3 sets with the hubby watching me. but when he is not there I will use less weights but more reps

I did half of a butt and thigh DVD last night and finally am feeling sore from something - it takes a lot to get me sore - I wanted to do more tonight - but I have AF and don't feel like squatting TMI - sorry!
