LONDON

DH & I are considering going to London over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Prices look good but we are unsure of what AREA to stay in ...

Any suggestion on what are to look? What are the areas to stay away from?

Re: LONDON

We just went to London! (see my avatar- me & Big Ben Chat Icon )

We stayed in the Mayfair section at the Ritz. We got an amazing deal. The area was really nice and we were only a short stroll through the park to Buckingham Palace. This is the most upscale part of London, so the area was beautiful and we felt very safe.

Last time I was there I stayed in Covent Garden at the Strand Hotel. This is in the theatre district, and there is alot of nightlife over in this area. I loved staying here, there was alot to do at night. When we were in Mayfair we walked to this section at night.

The only place I don't think I'd stay in the City section. It's very financial/business.

Just some advice...
-London is INSANELY expensive!! The airfare and hotels are reasonable...but once you get there- WOW Chat Icon Pack alot of snacks, and seriously, bring food with you. You'll save a fortune. (Ex: breakfast converted was $20 for 2 coffees and 2 muffins) Chat Icon
- DEFINTITELY take the double decker bus tour! We saw the entire city in 2 days. You are able to get on and off the bus, and get discounts to the attractions.

I stayed in Bayswater. We were in walking distance of the Tube and Kensington Palace and Portobello Road. We stayed at a hotel called the Westminter. Nothing fancy, but clean and we loved the neighborhood.
