i just opened my case with unemployment...
... they're going to be calling me for a phone interview to question me as to why i'm not working. and then they'll decide if i qualify.
i didn't know it was like that

I had to collect for a short time in Massachusetts and they did this..
I didn't know they did it in NY.

I think it depends on if your company is stating it was a "layoff" or not.
If you were "fired" and your company states that- they may want to question you...

i never had that happen. Maybe they are doing it as an audit to see why people are out of work and get the details. Unemployment is big right now.
