Kind of freaked out right now
So I woke up this morning from a deep sleep with really bad lower abdominal pain. I was doubled over, broke out in a cold sweat and got really nauseous. It lasted for about 10 minutes then went away. I feel fine now but I'm kind of freaked out that I might have an ectopic pregancy. Anyone every have one? I'm still very early in my pregnancy, I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I left a message with my doctor's office just to see what I should do.

I had a similar situation yesterday. I called the doc and they asked me to come in for a sonogram ( I am 7 1/2 weeks) everything was fine. Please make sure you follow up with the doc- I am sure it is nothing.

Call your doctor and have it checked out. Better safe then sorry. Sometimes an ovary will retain fluid (cyst) and that can be very painful but not serious.

I have had several ovairan cysts and that is the exactly how I felt. Intense pain for a short while and cold sweats. The sonogram tech told me last night that cysts are very common when you become PG.

i had a cyst on my ovarys they picked up on my sono and i had bad pains also a stomach virus is going around im 37 weeks and i picked up this lovely thing and besides being uncomfortable this is another great thing to add to the discomfort.

I actually had that when I was 6 weeks along with my son. It felt like REALLY BAD gas cramps. I had chills, etc. Mine lasted for more than 10 minutes but that's how I felt. I was scared too, but ended up being nothing. They also found a cyst on my ultrasound, but that cyst was an Endometrioma unfortunately.

Do cysts go away on their own, or you need to have them surgically removed? Is a cyst something serious, like ovarian cancer or not being able to concieve? Just curious!

Thanks for asking. I'm still feeling fine and no bleeding so far, thank goodness! I spoke with my MD last night and she said it was a good sign I'm not bleeding and to let her know asap if I felt it agin. She says I still too early to have symptoms of an ectopic so she didn't think that was the problem. She also thought it might be a cyst but I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago which came back fine. She offered to do serial lab work to make sure my hcg levels are going up but I won't be able to get to a lab till next week so if I still feel fine I may or may not do that. Ah the waiting game, I wish I can just look into a crystal ball to know what will be
