Does your couch and loveseat match each other?

Last year DH and I bought a chair and a couch. At the time our apartment was too small for a loveseat.

We just moved into the house and tonight we went to Seamans to see if they still had the loveseat or another chair. Since they are closing, they don't have a lot.

I really think we need more seating in the living room. We saw a loveseat in a similar style but I worry that it would look stupid. It's not a big deal but any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.

Have you looked for the love seat at www.furniture.com? GIve them a try, they sell for Seamans and Levitz and have a lot of stuff. Do you have a pic of the couch and the name of it?

We bought ours as a set on www.furniture.com from levitz.

We just bought a chair and a couch. The couch is a solid color and came with printed pillows and we had the chair made from the same fabric the pillows are. It may sound wierd but we think it will look great!

Personally, I prefer coordinated but not the same. Just get something that will go well with the couch, doesn't need to be same pattern or color. I would stick to the same style, i.e. modern, colonial, country ....

yes, because we have blasck leather couches, so it was easy to find a match.

ours do match, but I like the look of complimentary fabrics.

We bought our sofa about 5 years ago...so when the time comes for us to purchase more pieces, they won't match.

But that's my style as well - I am not into that matchy-matchy look...I prefer pieces to compliment one another.

I think if you're overly concerned you could buy a piece with the same type of fabric/same color family and coordinate with matching pillows or throw to tie it all in.

ours was a set- but i also like the idea of getting pieces that compliment each other. we have a loveseat and a matching couch, and now that we just moved into our house i want a chair to match...but i was thinking of buying a chair in the same pattern as the pillows on our couch instead of the same pattern as the actual couches.

So funny this thread started. I was actually on line last night looking for a love seat for the same exact reason! I did come across one that looks similar to our couch, and I think we are going to go ahead and purchase one soon. I, too, feel we need more seating in our den.
