Dermatologist?
Going to one for the first time. Figured it's time for a body check..
..and to see about some facial treatments.
So what can I expect? I've been to tons of doctors but never a derm..

Re: Dermatologist?
I only went once, well twice, but it was a follow up appt for the same issue.
can't really tell you what to expect since I went only b/c I had a problem. It sounds like you're going for a "well visit", not a specific problem.

Re: Dermatologist?
i had a body check a few weeks ago. First i pointed out which spots on me had changed, and they biopsied one - the rest they measured and i'll go back once a year and they will measure all my spots to make sure they havent grown.
oh, and they look ALL over - wasnt expecting that!!

very true they do check you all over. Don't wear a thong lol you will be in undies lol although mine did check butt cheeks too lol. Other than that the basics legs, arms, back, chest, feet.
ETA: I have had pre cancerous cells and tissue removed so I have to get checked 1-2x a year to make sure all is ok.

Re: Dermatologist?
ooo...a cute gyn? To me that's a conflict of interest.
I hope they don't find anything and that your iron comes up eventually.

Re: Dermatologist?
When I went I had to strip down to my britches and put on a paper gown. She was done on less than 5 minutes. It really wasn't as bad as I thought. They just touch here and there if they see something. I had to get a mole removed on my belly and I remember asking if it was going to hurt but she was already done. HTH
PS Good for you for going- it's so important.

Re: Dermatologist?
you wear your underwear, they check your legs, arms, face, back, bottom of feet, back of hands, ears, scalp. If you have something you want checked out they'll see what it is and remove it if needed. It's quick and not bad at all.
