My jaw hurts
I've been stressing out much and I think I've been clenching my teeth. Also, I'm a bit sick and have been getting a lot of back drip and clearing my throat. Trying to figure out what's making it hurt.
It's only on one side. Maybe a wisdom tooth?

Re: My jaw hurts
You could be night-grinding. I tend to only do that on one side of my mouth. My DDS gave me a nightguard and it helps alot!

Re: My jaw hurts
it just started happening a few days ago. It's so sore, I can barely chew.
I bet you're right though. I bet I'm really grinding. Or, since I'm a bit sick it could be a swollen gland?

Re: My jaw hurts
Are you experiencing any digestive issues? That can cause grinding as well.

Re: My jaw hurts
It could be grinding - but it could be your ears - I had a bad ear infection a few years ago and my jaw killed me - I could barely open it - so if you said you had swollen glands maybe you have fluid in your ears?

I have a regular doc appt tomorrow and I will mention it to him. I figure he knows anatomy..
I actually hope it's a gland..the grinding issue ain't getting better any time soon!

Same here and it has helped a lot. Teeth grinding is also connected to headaches.

Re: My jaw hurts
Like OP said it might be from grinding your teeth, I started doing that myself in my sleep i need to stop it.

Re: My jaw hurts
Clenching your teeth will aggravate TMJ. My mom has it and she has to make a conscious effort not to clench her teeth.
Ask your doc, but I'd check with the dentist, too!
