colonscopy question?

Is this normal now for colonscopy prep?

You take some sort of pre ready mixes? Theres 4 of them, and an enema at night? There was something else I can't recall right now maybe a pill of some sort or 2 suppositorties (sp)

I thought the usual prep was drinknig a gallon of that awful stuff?

Different doctors prefer different preps. It used to just typically be, like you said, drinking lots of gross liquid. Now there are more options. I did hear about some type of pill.

There are many different types of prep - just depends on the dr to which one you have to do.

agreed about the different preps.

I do the milk of magnesia two nights before..then day before fleet phospho soda (1 ounce) in some sprite (once in the am and once 4 hrs before the test the next morning)

The first time I did it I had to drink a gallon of this awful stuff. This time I convinced the doc to let me use the fleet.

No enemas here.

I had a colonoscopy a few years ago and had to drink this nasty mixture the night before...then that morning had to do an enema.
My mom had one about two years ago and just had to take a pill.

When I had to prep, I had to mix a bottle of miralax into a gallon of gatorade. 2 hours before drinking it, I had to take 2 dulcolax.

It was not bad, but after drinking the drink, before it worked, I felt like I wanted to throw up, I was so full.

I had surgery on my intestines and it started with two ducolax, then milk of mag then fleet phospho..no enemas but you really have to get cleaned out to get a good look.

Oh and no red or orange anything.
