FM "MrsPJB2007" -- Melissa. She is going very soon (in May) and she did a TON of research on all the different places - she will tell you all the pros/cons and which one she went with -- I think the name is IBEROSTAR. But definitely FM her and maybe if you could wait a few weeks on booking she'll be able to give you some feedback based on her own personal experience. HTH!

Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana. The resort was beautiful food was great, and the staff was very friendly.

We went to Secrets Excellence - now called Excellence in Punta Cana. It was beautiful, the food was great and I think well worth the money.

We stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana. Loved it and it was pretty affordable!

I have some pics in my album from Excellence.......we had a great time... We loved all the perks of this resort....Free mini-bar, room service, pizza by the pools.....nightly entertainment, daily activities, snorkel gear, I could go on and on......My only 2 negatives would be that we didn't think the food was that good(but we're picky) and you did have to get up early to reserve a pool chair and pool float....and people did steal them if you left them unattended for 5 minutes....

We stayed at SUnscape the Beach and it was great! They had 5 a la carte restuarnts daily activities. We had a blast!!!!!

We just got back from the Punta Cana and it was one of the worst vacation I have ever been on.
Definately stay at a couples only all inclusive and do your research!
